Pancakes, Comfort Bikes and Mud Puddles!

Happy Mother's Day! This morning, Daddy and Jack made special apple streudel pancakes for breakfast. After church, Chris surprised me by taking me to Bonefish Grill for lunch. That was brave with two boys! It went surprisingly well - Jack used chopsticks to eat his penne mac-n-cheese, and Sammy decided that he loves trout (he ate half of my dinner!). Then we got ice cream cones at Ben and Jerry's and played out on the Astro-Turf lawn. Jack met lots of new little friends to chase around. After he and Sammy were exhausted, we went to REI and picked out my Mother's Day gift - a new pink K2 Breeze Comfort Bike. Hooray! Oh, and Chris got his Father's Day bike a few months early. Now we just need to get some toddler bike seats and we'll be in business! As you can see from the picture, Jack is prepared for biking - he already has his Thomas the Tank Engine bike helmet! We had a big rainstorm this afternoon, and Jack drove his tricycle through mud puddles until supper time. He was covered with mud from head to toe - at one point he laid down on his belly in the middle of a puddle and said "I'm going to take this stick and some cake and catch a fish!" (Curious George does this in one of Jack's favorite books). We had a great Mother's Day adventure!
